The archaeological trench on the mound near the house has become the biggest pottery find in Herefordshire. For this project Eardisland's Oral History Group will be actively encouraged to continue with their historical findings and their archaeological work on the old estate. It is our aim not to damage any potential areas of interest when doing any improvements to the landscape and gardens. In fact the garden design plans will be done to add interest to the archaeological mound and how it ties in with the history of the Manor of Burton.
This will be done with informative and educational signs and displays; and fenced off pathways around the mound. This is all in order to help raise the historical environmental awareness of the old manor.
